Subjects Taught
ELA (English Language Arts), Math

I received my formal education in the Sumter County School system.  In 2006, I received a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from Georgia Southwestern State University. I received my Teaching Certificate in 2011 through GATAPP.  In 2014, I completed my Master's of Education from Georgia Southwestern State University.  In 2015, I obtained a Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont College. I am currently pursing my Doctorate's degree from Columbus State University in Curriculum and Instruction.

I am excited to teach at Sumter County Middle School.  I have been teaching for seven years, and I obtained all of my teaching experience from Staley Middle.  This is my second year at Sumter Middle School.  This year, I am the Gladiators Lead Teacher Grade and Math Department Chair. In the past I have taught, 6th grade Math and 8th grade ELA/Reading, and 7th grade Math and ELA/Reading.

I am an Americus native and I received my formal education from the public school system of Americus, GA.  My hobbies include playing and coaching basketball.  I also enjoy spending time with my husband, my three children and teaching students the concepts of math.  My classroom will be a place to learn and a place to develop social skills.  It will include math, reading, and writing concepts on the walls and seating that will depend on the classroom activity at the time. There will be at least two computers in the classroom so students can complete some assignments based on the area of their needs.  My philosophy is to "try your hardest, and you will succeed at whatever you want to do."

The goals I plan to fulfill are to become a great teacher, be a guide, supervisor of learning, a facilitator, director of learning, and a collaborative partner. I want to be a part of the learning process to help students develop morally and intellectually. Teaching is hard, but with determination I will influence students to choose the right decisions on their journey in life.  I will always strive to be a great teacher and inspire my students to learn.
