Sumter County Middle School Seventh graders in Mrs. Beth Smith’s ELA classes are studying the different types of textual structure in informational writing. The students made “folding notes” to add to their interactive notebooks. Each set of “folding notes” included various types of information that will help students identify different types of textual structure. This information includes: types of textual structure, graphic organizers, definitions, examples, and signal words for each type of textual structure. Pictured are students displaying their “folding notes” filled with user-friendly information.
