Sumter County Students Attend the Chattahoochee-Flint RESA & GYSTC Regional Science Fair

Seventh and eighth grade students at Sumter County Middle School attended the Regional Science Fair for grades 5-8 on Wednesday, May 3, 2017.  The Science Fair was hosted by Chattahoochee-Flint RESA and GYSTC.  This year’s event was held at South Georgia Technical College. 

We had several winners from the district which was awesome! Madison Smith, a seventh grader from Sumter County Middle School won 2nd place.  The title of her project was “Which Soda Stains Teeth the Most?”

Ian Roberts, also in the seventh grade, won 3rd place.  The title of his project was “Bacteria in Your Household.”

Nicholas Williams, an eighth grader at Sumter Middle, won 3rd place.  The title of his project was “Pokémon Go Electric Play Dough”.  Nicholas was also chosen for the Student Choice Award.  This award was given to Nicholas for being selected by his peers for having the best science project at the Science Fair.
