FFA

Americus, Georgia is home to “The Friendship Mission”, a subsidiary of Friendship Baptist Church under the pastorate of Bishop Melvin McCluster and First Lady Shermenetter McCluster. The Mission serves area residents who have personal needs and challenges that make them particularly vulnerable during the current health crisis.Ms. McCluster is an Advisory Board member for Sumter Middle FFA, where her son, Melvon is an active member and officer for the organization. FFA Members study the soap making process, and sell soaps throughout the community. In an effort to re-invest in the community FFA leadership decided to compliment the “Friendship Mission” goals, to assist those citizens among us who need a helping hand “Giving back to the community” is a practice students are taught as their leadership and personal development goals are met. Sumter Middle FFA was chartered in 2018 by the Sumter County Board of Education, and CTAE Department and is currently served by Advisor and Agriculture Instructor, Mr. Brinson Brock.
