Sumter County Middle School Future Farmers of America Chapter Competition

Sumter County Middle School and Sumter County Schools were well represented in Regional FFA Competition recently.  These young leaders prepared many hours and did well in the competition held in Moultrie, Georgia. Hundreds of FFA members across the state are competing for regional and state recognition. Brinson Brock's Ag Class students were involved in "FFA Quiz Bowl" which is a diverse set of questioning based on FFA and Agricultural Education history.  Mae Mills, SCMS Principal, commented, "These students have excelled in the classroom, community activities, and now, regional competition. I extend congratulations to each of them and encourage them to continue in these important skill building activities."

The FFA students are working hard preparing for additional competitions this year in the following area: Prepared Public Speaking, Extemporaneous Speaking, Horse Judging, Dairy Cattle Management and Judging, Poultry Science, and Floral Arrangement.
